Smart Talk Program Coordinator

Job Summary:
To coordinate the programs and services for the Prevention Initiative Program.
Qualifications:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Human Services or Social Science, a Master’s degree is preferred
Performance Responsibilities:
- Direct, support and evaluate the job performance of Parent Educators
- Coordinates and leads staff meetings at a minimum of 2 hours per month
- Organize and assist with group activities, field trips and special events
- Periodically reviews the computerized data management system
- Provides orientation and continued mentoring/support for parent educators
- Provide parent education to families through monthly home visitation, family activities, and life skill classes to English and Spanish speaking families
- Assess family need and provide developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support to parents
- Engage in on-going learning about issues related to cultural sensitivity and competency
- Facilitate parent/community advisory committee meetings
- Assist staff with developing individual professional development goals
- Organize Child Find Screenings
- Fulfill all training requirements and expectations
- Assist Assistant Superintendent with annual grant application and proposed budget
- Develop working collaborations with WIC, Ingalls Hospital and other community agencies
Term of Employment: 11 months
Evaluation: Evaluated Annually
