Smart Talk Program Coordinator

Job Summary:

To coordinate the programs and services for the Prevention Initiative Program.

Qualifications:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Human Services or Social Science, a Master’s degree is preferred

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Direct, support and evaluate the job performance of Parent Educators
  2. Coordinates and leads staff meetings at a minimum of 2 hours per month
  3. Organize and assist with group activities, field trips and special events
  4. Periodically reviews the computerized data management system
  5. Provides orientation and continued mentoring/support for parent educators
  6. Provide parent education to families through monthly home visitation, family activities, and life skill classes to English and Spanish speaking families
  7. Assess family need and provide developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support to parents
  8. Engage in on-going learning about issues related to cultural sensitivity and competency
  9. Facilitate parent/community advisory committee meetings
  10. Assist staff with developing individual professional development goals
  11. Organize Child Find Screenings
  12. Fulfill all training requirements and expectations
  13. Assist Assistant Superintendent with annual grant application and proposed budget
  14. Develop working collaborations with WIC, Ingalls Hospital and other community agencies

Term of Employment:  11 months

Evaluation: Evaluated Annually
