Celebrating Our Impact in Illinois: PAT APR Results Are In!

The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Annual Performance Report (APR) is complete, and together across Illinois we made a difference for thousands of families.

  • Families & Children Served: 8,610 families and 9,897 children were supported through PAT.
  • Family Needs: 90% of families faced one or more stressors, and PAT was there to walk alongside them with encouragement, resources, and support.
  • Early Start: Nearly one in four families (23.5%) enrolled prenatally, ensuring children receive a strong start before birth.
  • Diverse Communities: Families served reflect the diversity of our state – 44% Hispanic/Latino and 55% Non-Hispanic/Non-Latino.

The Impact We Created Together

  • 116,488 personal visits built strong, trusting relationships.
  • 4,178 families joined group connections – with an average of 27 group gatherings per affiliate – building community and reducing isolation.
  • 74% of children ages 19–35 months were reported up-to-date on immunizations.
  • 2,901 potential delays or concerns identified through developmental, health, hearing, vision, and social-emotional screenings – with hundreds of children referred and receiving follow-up services.

Our Parent Educators: The Heart of PAT
A dedicated team of 534 parent educators (508 full-time and 26 part-time) made this work possible.

Strong Retention and Demand

  • 79% of families stayed engaged throughout the year (81% when excluding families who moved).
  • 251 families remain on waitlists, a clear sign of the ongoing demand for services.

Together, we’ve proven once again that PAT Illinois is making a powerful difference in the lives of families and young children. Thank you to every parent educator, program, and partner who contributed to this work. Your commitment strengthens families and builds brighter futures for children across our state.
