Celebrating Literacy and Community at the 32nd Annual Family Literacy Fest
The Wayne County Family Enrichment Program collaborated with a local childcare center to host the 32nd Annual Family Literacy Fest on May 2, 2026. This free community event provided families with a wide variety of activities including crafts, inflatables, the Lion’s Club train, photos with Bluey and Bingo, a petting zoo, face painting, Tropical Sno, and the opportunity to explore a police truck, ambulance, and fire truck. Every child who attended received a goody bag, a door prize, and the opportunity to select a book to take home.
This year, the event welcomed approximately 600 attendees, making it a tremendous success. Thanks to the generosity of several local business sponsors, the event was able to remain free and accessible to all families in the community. Numerous community organizations also participated by providing activities and resources for families, including WADI Head Start, Child and Family Connections, Fairfield Lion’s Club, Department of Children and Family Services, and State Farm.
